I was thinking that it looked pretty cool, too. Like one of those BMW Art paintjobs.
Quick update, (no more images as yet) but the body shop has finally got my car down to bare metal. Apparently there were about 8 layers of paint on it , hence the pretty wood-look effect when sanding!
I'll update with photos when I get them.
Cheers,
Jim

Wow. Was there an option to dip-strip the panels? As they all come off, I wonder if it would save time+money?
Cool - looking forward to seeing the results.![]()

They are being thorough then!!! Any unplanned issues or is it all good under the paint?

Apart from the front wings which were in a bit of a state (apparently full of filler and done badly in the past and really beyond economical repair), so far no real issues- the odd bent bracket that can be straightened out. It's had little dings (rear quarter, drivers door etc) over the years but nothing that can't be sorted.
Cheers,
Jim
