for hoses on your car mate, you would likely be best going to your mazda people direct ... these are all honda hoses being purchased for the refresh. this appears to be a hose defect rather than coolant (re my car anyway), the other car is purely down to age

do you find getting hoses pretty handy, as i have trouble getting them for my cars.
coolant levels went down but have been ok since topping up. turns out it was the hose into the engine from the dash, ie the heater and the factory clip similar
to the one in the pic above needing another clip (like the one andrew used) to tighten up and stop the slight drip.

i am wondering though has this ever happened to other car's hoses, ie are they made pretty much the same?
The hose in the pic [grey car] is just old and done, well past it's replacement time I would say, and the rest are probably not far behind. The coolant coming from the [grey car] hose, was doing so while the car was just sitting at mine [not driven] but sitting ideling.

As for the hose that was on Andrews, it may just have been a faulty one, can happen from time to time.

yeah mine are probably about 20 years old lol. i rang the dealership and gave them the vin for my import but they never got back to me.
can you get the silicon hoses for an nsx? would they be more reliable?

no parts places seem to do the hoses, bar the ones you get in halfords, seem to be factory sourced part.

There are a few silicone hoses, but generally everyone sticks to the OEM as there are 23 hose to replace, the silicone ones either come as 8 [china brand I think] or from packages of 2 to 6 from the likes of Samco or Venair, but you'll pay allot more for just those few hose, than say the OEM coolant hose kit from the US.

    FAO forum admin

why has this thread been removed as a sticky?

apart from my car being heavily featured in it, there is also considerable amount of NSX information and helpful advice.
i would appreciate if this forum thread could be set up as a sticky again.

    thanks

    Thumbs up

Thought I would continue on with my car refresh and all the great work Sudesh has done to date.
No sense in me creating a build thread as he has done all the effort on here.

Anyways Got really fed up with the awful sound from the Bose system in the car ... It is woeful and the years gone by has made it worse. My bro recently got his gt86 worked on and it's immense but a pricey system put in and a lot of customisation. I want my car to retain OEM look so no special builds on A-pillars or things like that ... So went to a local car audio specialist to get advice and sort me out. A very strict brief was discussed and away he went to have a think on stuff to order and install

as you all know I already had replaced the head unit in my car due to the previous owner putting in some Sony single din unit in and was quite frankly threw in by the installer. Sudesh fixed all this up but the kit is simply not good enough. 4 years later I have had enough and bit the bullet to fix up.

Bose component trash pulled out and replaced with JL Audio stuff which includes

    400/4 amplifier
6W3v3 subwoofer with custom box built and fitted to go into footwell as standard
C5-525x door speakers in custom enclosure with dynomat
    high grade cables

the sound delivery and quality is night and day over original. Dynamics and power are in a different league and you need to be tone deaf or deaf not to hear the difference.

i know people like the Bose setup but seriously it is a pile of turd ... Well to my ears anyway. I now have 2 beautiful soundtracks

    engine/exhaust noise
    audio set up

those of you with any interest in hi-fi and decent sound do yourself a favour ...

As you can see the car was brought up to a local detailer for some TLC prior to winter hibernation.

The eagle eyed among you will notice the rims have been changed. I was able to bag a set of ProDrive GC07 from Bas (thanks mate!) on here based on the recommendation of Sudesh. The wheels were refurbed and sprayed to a Honda OEM colour. I was not in the position to purchase new tyres for the rear to fit the new wider wheels, so unfortunately I have a slight tyre stretch look on the rear which I am not a fan of tbh but will get a proper new set when these have worn out. New lower profile tyres added upfront and I will need to raise the ride height up front as I am not happy with how it sits currently and not as forgiving on some roads due to current height. So will be looking for a full geo setup in 2015 to get all aspects of handling right

Really like the look of these wheels on the car now
