This is the evap from the other unit. Some build up of leaves and the usual crud.

I cleaned the evap down and

straightened up the bent fins as best I could.

When all is dry I'll be re-installing the complete unit then its testing time before I put all back together.

Good job. The newer one certainly looks in better condition!

Can certainly see where some of the weight of the wiring comes from! Interesting photos of the interior with the dash etc out.

Yeah the newer one certainly looks in better condition and there are no signs of the fluorescent dye on this one.

With the dash out I'm going to spend some time and tidy up all the aftermarket wires from the security system and other bits, to make it all a bit neater.

    Thumbs up

    MY POOR CAR!

in all seriousness, great work mate!

not the biggest shock as i have seen her pretty stripped down before and have seen total removal on a car on prime before ... actually amazed about how calm i am ... bleedin evap is my main concern as you know for a VERY long time ...

just hope this replacement evap unit will do the job ... at least there is no leak detection sticking over all that one. bit shocked at the dirt of it but i guess from previous driving and lying around after being stripped out has taken its toll. amazing how much crap gets sucked up in there. I hope we are on the start/finish straight with the A/C system and thats it once and for all.

the dash all looks pretty complicated in behind there still, so cheers for taking the time to do a bit more tidying up. remember before putting the instrument cluster back in to stick in that dial u had made up so i can get her MOT'ed.

Not a problem! Hopefully all will go smoothly.

On that speedo gauge, It wont suit your car as it doesnt have the Cruise Control cut out, my car doesnt have cruise so the gauge was made to suit that, [similar to NSX-R]

So, are you using this opportunity to re-cover the dash in alcantara?

So the new evaporator is installed and before fitting the interior I had my A/C guy do a pressure test which I'm glad to say was all good.

So went ahead with installing the interior, its all nice and tight with no gaps or alignment issues. Cleaned down the carpets before the seat install.
