    Hi Paul,

Many thanks of the comment. I cant remember the exact model but it was a top of the line Pioneer I think lol

Andrew bought the radio so he can answer the question better. I'm not really up to scratch with the modern tech stuff but I do recall it has built in NAV, Ipod/Iphone ready, USB and memory card facilities too and a host of other things.

Shamu the whale is his luck charm lol

The interior looks really good, very impressed. What stereo did you install?

I do have to pull you up on the whale though, if you were going for the killer look it just doesn't work

    Thumbs up

    hi folks

there is not much more to be said than what Sudesh has covered. As you can see from the pics etc there was quite a bit to do to the car and I cannot fault what Sudesh has done. His standard of work is second to none, and I would NOT trust my car with anyone else. Some of these pics were news to me too btw!

The car when first purchased was in reasonable nick but through the 'refresh' programme and the added bits done to the car, she is running and dare i say better looking than before. I was more than happy for Sudesh to tear ahead with whatever needed doing, and we both were of the same opinion 99% of the time in terms of what needed done and how we could get her looking as good as she could.

the other bits that sudesh forgot to mention was

    removal of the engine fan
removal of standard areial and dab radio areial with internal replacement
you fixed up the boot and tidied it up and got rid of musty smells

regarding your to do list, yup everything you said but gonna push for the ABS upgrade in 2011 ... so something else for you to look forward to!

In the interim I hope to get a full paint correction/detail done on the car. The chosen vendor has been selected so all that is needed now is to schedule a date that will get the car from them to Sudesh for the winter work as described. The detail will take approx 4 days ... there is quite a bit of work to be done, the paint is metallic but looks very very flat, there is varying degrees of swirling all over the car, buffer trails etc etc

So many thanks to Suds for all the HARD WORK and effort put into my car. It will not be too long before the car returns to its 2nd home

He is the MAN, so get your car sent over for some 'SLC'

But also replaced was the gear gaiter and handbrake to nappa leather, new door entry pads in nappa leather, front fogs removed, sticker type number plate removed [why anyone does that to a car is beyond me, took hours to get it off.]
Complete interior valet, NSX-R style side mesh vents, Xenon/Hids, Coolant flush and refill, brake flush and fill, New Crank shaft pulley, Dali RR exhaust and new seals installed, New front Lip spoiler, cant remeber what else lol

Next is the coolant pipes, evap unit, clutch slave cylinder and a standard service.

    Hi Paul

The interior refresh has turned out to be an excellent result. To be fair to previous owners, the interior of the car was well looked after, it just needed a spruce up. The addition of the Nappa leather bits, the cruise control set up, fixing the centre console, replacing the stereo and adding the Type R steering has transformed the car. A lot of people have commented on how well it looks (interior wise)

AS for the stereo its the Pioneer AVIC-F920BT. Its not the top of the range model but the next one down. Main reasons for purchase is

    • Looked GOOD - thought it suited the NSX CC, and I did not want a full screen display with moving parts - been there done that
    • It has full iPhone compatibility - music, contacts list etc
    • The phone functionality is controlled by an integrated Parrot system and works VERY WELL
    • Navigation maps can be updated via Micro SD card as and when made available. Its an all in one solution so only external part is to fit the satellite receiver, motion detection etc is all done via unit itself so fitting a lot easier
    • Cracking user interface, easy to navigate etc etc.
If you are interested in the system, you need to purchase the SOS Double Din bracket to install correctly into your dash

I looked at many alternatives and I have been a Clarion man for the past 18 years, but there was something that just struck me about this Pioneer unit. I think its looks very smart and comes with a lot of functionality for the price. A worthwhile investment for sure. So far so good with the unit, decent sound and good clarity (probably need to think about upgrading speakers at some point!)

As for my wee 'Shamu', its been with me since 1995 and has been in all my cars since that. So I felt it was only right to continue this even in the NSX.

What you guys think of this? Was working on building this as a plug and play kit earlier this year but got side tracked and never really pursued it further.

not bad mate, but if i am being honest i like it the way in that Honda video where it appears to be where the ashtray cover is ... pretty cool (assuming this is an NSX R setup)!

No NSX including NSX-R etc has a push button start as standard.

The ash tray one is ok, but for me defeats the purpose of having a nice looking start button that light up!
