Started to work on another NSX.
The service menu is cooling system refurbishment, replace crank pulley, main relay and etc.

As it was too wet and windy for any test driving sessions, decided to just have a quick look at the starting and power cut out issue that the owner was suffering from.

On several occasions, the owner couldn't start the engine even with good cranking speed or the engine just died almost immediately after it fired up.

Normally, it's the main relay issue but the owner also told me that at one point, he lost all the lights on the dash and even triggerd the EPS warning light on another occasion so that confirmed that not just the main relay but also sudden drop or loss of battery power to the system was confirmed.

I already had main relay in stock and also the owner was well prepared and even brought the replacement IG switch with him.

While I was testing, I actually managed to re-cerate the same issue several times and the EPS warning light came on and on another occasion, the engine just died immediately after it fired up.

So, before touching anything, just took a video to show the owner as well as the potential new owners on what will happen if the IG sw goes wrong.

If you wiggle the IG key slowly clockwise and anti-clockwise many times or if you turn the key towards the 'Start (cranking)' position very slowly and carefully without actually starting the engine and then immediately release the key, you will see the dash blacks out or the volt meter and the dash lights fluctuate randomly.

This will also trigger the EPS warning light especially on the specific year models as the controller will try to conpensate the power assist based on the battery/charge voltage.

Hope to carry out the test driving session tomorrow although the weather forecast doesn't look great.
