Yes I am aware of that battery, and don't believe its an NSX-R battery, the JDM parts system I have does not list a 38B19L battery for the car, the battery for NSX-R is listed 55B24L

Here's a link to that battery with the newer part number. Might as well use a lighter battery if it works right?

Yes I know that battery exists, but its not listed for NSX-R [that Im aware off] so as Im trying to stay on track with my NSX-R upgrades, I like to use the original bits as much as I can.

I also don't think the 38B battery would even fit the OEM NSX-R battery box, as the box is pretty much, an exact fit for the NSX-R battery I bought.

That's a pity on the sill plates and mats we discussed.

Ok little update on the NSX-R battery.

There were in fact 2 types of battery used in the NSX-R! But from my research, it was only on the facelift model.

Pre-Facelift NSX-R used the battery I posted earlier, type 55B24L; however the facelift NSX-R used either 55B24L or the smaller type 38B19L as seen above.

It would seem that only facelift NSX-R models that had no AC, no airbags, navigation etc, used the smaller battery!

The smaller battery weighs 9.4kg on my scales, and it is either Yuasa or FB asseen in my phitos, exact same battery and comes fom Homda, again this battery is nothing special and its shared with other honda models, [at least in the country it is] it can be purchased from your dealer and not that expensive either, again this applies to UK.

31500-S6M-J03 superceeded for us in the UK to 31500-SMG-E02

This part number is also listed for the smaller battery and showing active

31500-S6M-505.
