“I find myself irresistibly attracted to cars that nobody else buys. The NSX is a classic of the genre because nobody buys it and yet it’s a fantastic car. It’s got a wonderful compactness and simplicity and unpretentiousness to it. Honda rudely continues to make them whether we like it or not, even though there can be no commercial logic in doing so — I thoroughly admire that.” Rowan Atkinson

"If you want to argue that The Best Car in the World is a supercar, go ahead. But there is only one that makes the grade. Only one that's built properly.
Gordon Murray knows.
Rowan Atkinson knows.
It's the Honda NSX."

Red pop-up in Essex this morning. Seen the NSX on the plate but missed the prefix.
Spotted driving along the A1060 at Leaden Roding heading Chelmsford bound.
Since I bought mine last September I haven't seen a single other NSX on the road with the exception of when I joined a few fellow Berkshire / Oxfordshire members for a pub catch up late last year. That was the case anyway until...
Last week when I happened to vacate my fairly populated area of residence and head to the Brecon Beacons for a week of piece, quiet and limited interaction with the outside world. Whilst traveling between Pencelli and Crickhowell on a single track road, low and behold we came across a beautiful Midnight Purple pop up parked up in a lay-by next to a babbling brook, R3 NSX. Stopped to take a quick snap but no sign of the owner. A shame but probably for the best as I suspect that had they have actually been around they would not have believed it when a 25 year old (i.e. me) leant out of the window of the 1976 baby blue VW camper that we were in and said "hey mate, I've got one of those too!".
First time my girlfriend has seen midnight purple and she commented on its beauty, although did follow this up nicely (perhaps just to protect my ego) by saying that whilst it was lovely it wasn't quite as beautiful as red. On reflection she also said the purple gave the car more of a 'ganagster' feel. On that contraversial note I shall stop.
Cheers,
James
