when i treated all the little steel brackets under the bonnet, i wanted to do the ABS pump bracket, so today i got the chance to take it off and give it a treat!
here's the offending article (a new replacement is a bargain from Lings at just (57355-SL0-J00) BRACKET, PUMP £213.11 )

to this i added a coat of plastidip, just to give it a bit of stone-chip resistance
