Default Service parts 3.2 (8 years old - 30,000 miles)

    Hi chaps.

Can someone list what the essential parts are for servicing a 2002 3.2 that's approacing 30,000 miles?

Timing belt, tensioner, aux belts, water pump, bottom crank pulley etc...

I want to replace everything that needs replaced and don't really want to throw stuff at the car that it doesn't need.

Would anyone know the Honda part numbers too by any chance?

    Cheers!

I didn't think the water pump was an issue on newer cars like yours?

Hold your horses there just one minute... I thought cam belt services were every 6 years on a 3.2?

    No service history?

If you are doing the TB, then get the WP replaced at the same time with all the aux belts (aux belts you can get for about £12 IIRC from a motor factor).
Plugs should be good for about 60k but for £50, you could replace them.
I'm not sure if the tensioner and spring are required, they will cost you $100 from the US.
Inspect / replace the air filter too.

Scattered mate. Sudesh has done a little digging and it looks like the car has a full Honda service history up until now but the original book has been lost so I'm in the process of getting a new service book and having it stamped by the respective dealerships where the work has been carried out.

I run a large independent motor factor and the only after-market brand I would use for the auxiliary belts would be Gates.

Unfortunately Gates don't make the exact size for the NSX (they are a few mm out) so I'm going to source all genuine parts apart from the spark plugs, which I already have in stock from NGK.

    Air filter has been done.

    I'm thinking:

    Timing belt
    Tensioner / bearing
    Water pump
    Auxiliary belts
    Bottom crank pulley
    Both rocker cover gaskets
    Cam plugs
    Valve clearances adjusted

Anyone add or remove any items there?

I'm having the header tank and coolant hoses replaced along with the thermostat and a cooling system flush done shortly after this service by Sudesh.

Not sure. Thought it was 8 years or 60k for all 3.2's and 6 and 60k for 3.0ltrs.

    Here's one we discussed earlier.

Connor, when was yours registered? mine is a September 02 car, so not due 'the service' for 6 months.

Also, still not sure about the water pump thing on an 8 year old 30k mile car. I guess that by the time it needs another one the car will be 16 years old with 60k miles. It's a shame the the water pump is such a pig to do on it's own. \

    Cheers,

    James.
