The cluster from a previous post came in a box with an additional, non-working CCU. It had been worked-on previously and some unknown clear coat was applied, covering a lot of capacitor liquid...
Very good to know - that's another point on my list.
Very nice, much better than expected :)
It's an important repair - if the large HIC chip gets damaged it becomes difficult to get a replacement.
Less than 1000 km, I'm afraid - probably too busy repairing NSX electronics than driving them around ..
Around march, a cluster from France arrived with the famous "permanent brake system warning" and about 70.000 km of roads travelled. Using the tester, the issue was confirmed quickly. RPM values were...
Oh, that looks more complicated than initially thought .. but good that it's fixed!
There's a Whatsapp group? Am I missing out on something?
Looks like some repair cost estimation tool - but I might be wrong ..
You're welcome Kaz, just trying to share what I've discovered.
Due to the angle the radio is installed and the location of the capacitors, the ZD807 area is affected by damage quite often.
I was...
Another radio with intermittent sound output arrived at my desk. It was previously repaired in 2008 but not exactly in top quality.

state of repairs 2008
Nevertheless it played fine...
Thanks for the very welcome notice - Renewed!
Impressive, indeed - as always :)
Sometimes it's the other way around, as well. My parents owned a Datsun 260 Z (2+2). At that time, everyone knew that a German designer was responsible for the look but it required the internet age...
Good you found the reason - things like these can keep yourself awake at night :)
Interesting video, even though the narrator is much nicer to listen to than the guy on the track - or maybe it's me getting old ..
Looking at these vast differences on 0-60 I'm curious to see some...
There is also a mix of Propane and Isobutane (available from Poland) which is cheap and compatible with all oils and cools well - it's flammable, though.
While working on the radio from France anther one via NSX prime from the USA came in. All inputs and functions were fine but the speaker output was intermittent and worked only for a few seconds...
Mine is DBW, but never experienced that issue. You could try to put it into a different gear and see if the issue stays with the specific pedal position or the speed.
From an electronics point of...
There's also the option to fit the S2000 ABS but that might not be for the faint of heart .. otherwise, @Kaz has installed the later system and blogged about it extensively.
Assuming that the systems are very similar, the BA4 Prelude and the Legend might have suitable accumulators.
One of my toughest work on an NSX radio has been completed as of this morning. The French radio came in with multiple issues at the same time:
CD port non-operational
Aggressive scratching...
The number of pictures per post is limited to a certain number, but more importantly the file size is, too (roughly 1 MB per image) - the error message does not give an indication, unfortunately.
Considering the audio quality of cassette adapters and the NSX tape deck you should be positively surprised :)
