Could it be a mechanical on top of an electrical issue? It somehow reminds me of an old motorbike that needed a blow with a hammer to engage the starter. Afterwards it would start fine.
Maybe hot...
Since these mixtures have been in use in the USA for along time before coming to Europe, the NSX should be fine.
From the 1991 owner's manual
This seems to be true for any even remotely popular old car. Since roughly 2014 prices are climbing and climbing, similar to real estate prices all over the world.
Bad news. The following items are not available (no delivery date from Honda):
Honda 19501-PR7-000 - HOSE, FR. WATER UPPER (YELLOW PAINTED)
Honda 19502-PR7-010 - HOSE, FR. WATER LOWER (YELLOW...
Update to an old thread of mine - parts are now ordered - from Amayama - Prices (in Euro) have increased by 4 % in the last 3 years.
I'll keep you updated once there are news.
Interestingly, for such a mint condition NSX, the radio knobs (it has been replaced in 2015) have the wrong colour ..
The radio that came with the three amplifiers was in a pretty bad shape. Capacitor leakage had even penetrated to the bottom of the board. The design of the 1992 EU radio utilizes several large...
Unfortunately, nothing happened. Checking the MOS-FET transistors reviled two potentially broken ones - their measured resistance remained too low to be correct. Event after replacing them with new...
A french NSX owner, active on NSX prime sent me his Bose speaker amplifiers (and the radio- but we'll come to that in a separate thread) for repair. The car has been left in a garage for a...
On a side note, it's an interesting discussion from a German point of view. Here the use of a Xenon system (starting at a certain amount of lumen) requires automatic levelling plus cleaning system...
Long time without an update but since work, home schooling and home kindergardening started again, time for hobbies became limited.
The ordered PCBs arrived end of January. Valuable parts were...
A nice find and an interesting read :)
Importing and registering a car in the USA becomes significantly easier when they are older than 25 years:...
Interesting to hear that they explicitly mention specific technologies as a reason for a fail. If someone puts another different light source in there the rules need to change again.
On the other...
Thanks for the explanation - somehow I more and more connect gears and metal work with your name :D
Looks like I should have another look ..
My personal observation until moving back to Europe was that prices started their first hike in 2013 when Japan moved out of the industrial crisis after...
Thanks Jonathan :)
Double checked the changes to the PCB and layout this evening, correct some labels and going to order the new PCBs on Monday.
Thank you very much, that keeps me motivated :)
This is the final update to complete the circuit and PCB design. Two issues have been observed while prototyping the tester:
The output drivers are too weak to supply the gauge cluster...
One big dial is still missing, the speedometer. The exact design of the corresponding signal can be found in this forum entry.
Utilizing the new hardware, a separate driving circuit is no longer...
The gauge cluster used in all previous videos and pictures is from a 1997 AT NSX with manual shift control at the steering wheel. Due to this, the RPM dial contains an extended shift indicator. The...
The RPM control signal is technically the same as in the first generation tester. A 12 V rectangle signal needs to be created and send to the cluster. Instead of a dedicated transistor circuit the 12...
Thank you very much and a happy new year :)
The last message was quite software heavy. so now it's back to more traditional electro-mechanics. Let's talk about the three small gauges on the cluster, namely oil pressure, temperature and fuel...
