More head unit

Trace of drink fluid at the bottom lid, lots of markings on the display panel, cracking sound, etc.

Some capacitor leakage but nothing like the previous one.
Though, interesting to see the level of leakage at the power I/F board.

VR module cleaned with contact cleaner, repaired/cleaned the circuit board, cleaned the display.

Installed on my NSX for reallife testing.

Haven’t covered much miles yet but already looking good.

Even more head unit.

The owner reported poor radio reception but question mark on exactly what he meant.

The output was cracking so either small leakage or fretting at the VR module.
All 4ch were at same level.

On the bench, was able to tune into the same number of radio stations as other units so advised the owner on where to look for the coax cable breakouts position.

Started opening it.

A/C CCU board

Quite surprised that the owner survived until now.
Lots and lots of capacitor leakage.

Normally, C19 is the last one to leak but it’s already fairly bad.

Hope the motor driver IC is not dead.

Typical phenomenon of fan works only at max speed setting.

May need looking into one Tr as well.

In the process of removing all the caps.

FCU (Fan Control Unit)

Another one as preventative service.

Could see small soldering cracks.

Just lots of re-soldering and ready to be re-installed.

Will be back on FB group as well.
Been away for many weeks.

    3 down, 1 to go.

Been awhile since last time I had to remove the capacitor/resistor module so quite a challenge with this CCU board but now into test driving session using my NSX.
