CL Hyd Sys 02

Rate this Entry

New slave cyl, new hose and bolts about to be installed.

Bleeding the CL hydraulic system is not that difficult because
it’s a single piston system and the total amount of fluid inside the
there is very low.

And unlike the brake master cyl, the CL reservoir is connected to the
cyl body via rubber hose with simple low pressure hose band so
just a quick pressure bleed with low pressure setting is enough.

There was no grease at the pocket on the release fork where the
slave plunger sit so it was making loud squeaking noise before.

Applied the high temperature spec grease in the pocket.

Had to spend extra time for installing the dust boot over the
slave cyl body because the existing one was installed in a
wrong way and with the heat, it took set.

Warmed it up and then installed it properly.

As the battery is still disconnected, I couldn’t move the seat forward so
I couldn't test this in proper driving position but after the installation,
the pedal felt much lighter and how it should be compared to
the very heavy resistance before, although it could be just me.......

One thing for sure, there is no more squeaking noise.

So, CL hyd sys is done and time to start installing all these coolant hoses
while polishing the corroded pipes.

More to follow later.
