Nothing new here….. Just keep cleaning the internal and external caliper parts…..

Received the caliper and bracket back from Bigg Red.

Once again, they had bubbling and running of polymer on a few parts but
far better than the last occasion.

In fact, you won’t notice them unless you really look for them.
You won’t be able to see some of them unless you take the caliper or
bracket off the car.

Still, they decided to reduce the price.

At this stage, we are not sure what is causing this issue.
They already tried several different batch of polymer,
used the same batch on lots of calipers from other cars,
tried multiple coating, etc and only our NSX calipers were
showing this issue.

We already tried it on both the original spec smaller caliper as well as on
the later spec larger one and both had good results as well as issues so
not year model or spec related.

Because of this, Bigg Red is willing not to carry out the service on NSX caliper
at this stage as they are loosing money for applying multiple coats but with
not 100% satisfied result.

I may need to seek for a new provider or ask them to review their price based on
the assumption that they need to apply the coating at least twice.

Some of the parts for the OH.

Not everything are shown here as there are several know-how involved that
are not even on the workshop manual.
These will make big difference on the caliper conditions in a few years time when
you OH the caliper again.

By the way, some of the OEM seal/boot service kits are no longer avaialbe in
several countries including US and possibly UK as well.

Seems to be something to do with the chemical or grease included in the kit.
I have no problem in getting them in Japan so may be local regulation related???

I always use some markings on the brackets before painting/coating so that
I can put them back in their original position.
It will also assist me in placing the two different slider pins in the correct position.

Even it was already done by Bigg Red, I can’t take any chances so always clean
all of the bolt threads with re-thread tools and wash them out thoroughly.

Once pistons installed, double check the seating of seals/boots and
the movement by pushing the pistons out and in.

Front and rear calipers installed.

They used to look like these.

Custom made Goodridge brake line installed with new bleeder screw.
(The owner, please visit your photo album as I hit the max limit of
photo attachment for a single post.)

Time to bench bleed the brake master cyl.

More to follow later.
