Nothing special and not much to report.

Filled the new oil filter with fresh Mobil 1.

Installed.

After draining the old engine oil from the sump,
I always extract further 300 – 400cc from the top.

Replacing the engine oil regularly is very important even your NSX is a garage queen.

When I open the NSX engine, quite often, the internal parts were
much dirty on the low mileage, low usage NSX than the everyday car NSX like mine.

It seems that some of the owners think that it is not required to replace the engine oil
if the car was not moved.

When the engine is stopped, some of the exhaust valves are not fully closed so
engine itself is not a sealed system and exposed to the outside atmosphere
including the moisture.

When the engine is started and while it is warming up,
there will be lots of blowby gas generated and this is when the engine oil becomes
important to wash out these contaminations around the engine including the moisture
while the car was parked.

If you don’t drive your NSX regularly or if you only do frequent short distance travel,
you may see light brown or milky colour residue at the back of the engine oil filler cap.

That’s the moisture inside the blowby gas.

So, even if your annual mileage is just a few thousands miles or even below,
please replace your engine oil at least once a year.
