TH Butterfly Cleaning

Before



This NSX is of early spec so it uses EACV with idle air port.

Therefore, when washing the TH butterfly, you need to aim the cleaning agent at
the specific place during the process.


For some of the NSX, when the TH body was super dirty,
I had to even remove the idle adjust screw to clear out the sticky gunk inside
the idle air port otherwise it was not possible to clean it thoroughly.


So, while the engine was cold, cleaned the area as much as possible.
The photo is bit out of focus but hope you can see the big difference
compared to the above photo.







After




Then, started the engine and applied the cleaner agent further in a short burst mode.

At the same time, cleaned the PCV valve as well.


Now it’s very clean and will reset the ECU later.
