One more time, triple checked the valve timing before going any further.

It looked like the oil cooler mating surface was not prepared properly in the past and allowed moisture to get inside causing lots and lots of oxidation.
This photo was taken after I started cleaning the area as I forgot to take it to show before/after shots but you should be able to see the big trace of oxidised area.

Had to spend extra hour to clean both side of the oil cooler area.

Cleaned the old red sealant at the upper two bolts of the oil cooler.

Installed the oil cooler with two new coolant hoses.
These are the ones that could burst first out of more than 20 hoses on our NSX.

Had to re-use one of the cable brackets
that was already corroded for the oil press warning sensor as I only had one spare and I wanted to use it for the missing one at the upper side of this TB rear cover.

Spent hours adjusting the valve clearance at the rear bank and done.

Front bank to follow.
