If re-using the two upper bolts of the oil cooler, one should apply liquid gasket to the bolt thread on installation but there was no sign of it on them….
Still, there was a residue of red sealant from the factory so cleaned them in preparation for the installation.

By the way, this TB Lower Cover is the original design that was discontinued long-long time ago ('90s) so the existing WP behind this cover is still the one from the factory.
Considering the state of the coolant pipes, please make sure to replace it at the next TB service. My recommendation is to replace it at every TB service regardless of the mileage covered.

While routing the cable for the oil pressure warning sensor at the oil cooler, noticed that the rear valve cover was not sitting properly.

There was a small gap at the rear TB cover.

If you are having your valve clearance adjusted or removing the valve covers for other reasons, please have this sorted to prevent contamination to the TB.

It was very good idea to replace the coolant hoses this time.
The ones at the oil cooler base were already deteriorated and due to the heat and the oil, one of them was already fattened so much that it was about to burst.

Still, so much time and effort required just to replace these two hoses……

As seen on so many NSX, the engine head was covered in lots and lots of oil.
One day, I would like to wash this engine thoroughly.
At least, the oil cooler looks better now.

Hoses under the centre floor done.

Without the replacement heater core pipe, I can’t do any more at the front compartment area.

So, pretty much done for the time being.

The parts from Japan are going to be here tomorrow morning so I can finish the service very soon.

However, the air cleaner element that I placed the order at my local Honda dealer earlier this week has not arrived yet….. Should have included it in the order to Japan….

More to follow later.
