There was no residue of liquid gasket left on the engine side.
This means that the metal surface was not degreased enough before applying the liquid gasket.
The rubber seal/gasket looked to be very tired and even had a cut so no wonder why there was so much oil seepage around the engine head.

Front valve cover.
As mentioned many times, lots and lots of blowby gas on this bank. Despite this dirty sticky gunk, the camshaft area and holders were just light brown so looks like the engine oil was replaced regularly with the good quality one. Very good!
Just need to spend another long time cleaning all these uncomfortable sticky bits....

Even with super low annual mileage, in my view, you must replace the engine oil at least once a year.
Even if you didn’t run the engine at all, some of the valves are always open and as the engine is not a sealed device, inside of the engine will be exposed to the air and moisture.

From the blowby gas point of view, it is not recommended to start the engine and keep it running at the idle rpm just to circulate the engine oil during the winter storage period.
When the engine is below the operating temperature, the metal clearance is not up to the spec and thus, lots of oil and moisture inside the blowby gas.
It’s much better to go out for a quick blast (if the road condition permits) than keep running the engine at idle rpm.
Also, even the engine was left for over one year in the storage, there were thick enough oil left even on the vertical cyl wall.

As seen on many other NSX, had much fun removing these rusty corroded bolts at the TB Lower cover.
And again, I'll be spending long time cleaning this area...... again.......

So, pretty much everything is now off the engine so time to tilt the engine to inspect the cam pulley alignment, TB tension, etc before start removing the cam shaft, WP, TB etc.

I need to rethread the bolt hole for the A/C idle pulley bracket as well.
Still lots of things to do....
Haven't finished the Christmas Card yet.....
