As seen on so many NSX, the V-bank is perfect place for trapping all sorts of debris.
I don't want to know what's in there….

It is my own policy not to touch the knock sensor unless asking the owner first for the risk of damaging the sensor body. I won't even touch the connector.
If you worked on S2000, you will know why.
On NSX, same story. Even just trying to remove the sensor connector could result in green section separating from the sensor metal base and being piezo type, not cheap.

Removed debris as much as possible while paying extra attention not to touch the knock sensor or even the wires.
Wire bracket was not melted yet so that's a good sign.

Wanted to show the small amount of eng oil seeping down along the valve stem but the camera angle and the flash caused the shade so not great photo.

It's quite normal for this mileage/age to seep through stem seal.
Probably at the next Eng Refresh, remove cyl head and replace the stem seal.
By now, valve seat would show stepping markings so deal with it at the same time.

All of the intake valve guides were not cracked so that's very good news.

The VVIS butterfly.

All of the swaged screw end was showing 90deg right angle against the shaft except this one.
Still, the swaging was effective and won't allow the screw to back off immediately.

Will tighten all of the screws, clean the area and then lock them with the liquid gasket later.

Fair amount of blowby oil trapped at the bottom chamber.
If excessive amount, you will start seeing white smoke from the exhaust when using high rpm.

Inside of the intake manifold already stained but will clean at least the surface.

Remembering that effect when I first drove the NSX on a test track in Shiobara with full throttle and looking through the rear mirror. It took me a while to learn that the just recently acquired car wasn't already broken ..
