Have been working on 2 x OEM head unit and Bose speaker AMP.

Just returned the first OEM head unit and the AMP but still working on the other head unit.
It is in really serious condition.
At this stage, it's 50/50 for me to be able to repair it within the cost limit that I set by myself.

The first head unit and the AMP were delivered from a company looking after their customer's NSX.

Addition to other owners, I help Honda garages, companies, organisations, etc as I'm happy to support small NSX community.

This head unit lost its power completely and nothing happens even when pressing any of the switches, buttons, etc.

It was confirmed on the bench testing as well.

On the bench, the speaker AMP was making some 'ringing' noise at certain frequency band on the bench but at least,
it was not making that loud popping or squeaking/screaming noise.

Quite surprised that this green cap AMP was still alive without making these loud noises.

It's the very early spec AMP but the speaker enclosure was from the later year.

Once removing the caps, it was quite obvious that the leaked acid managed to cut through several tracks and pads.

Part of the switched power line was completely missing so that explained the loss of power.

Fortunately, the OP AMP was not damaged and nearby transistors, diodes, zenors, etc were not contaminated so although it will take long time reconnecting everything,
I have good feeling about successfully recovering it.

My eyes…..

You won't be able to tell
where I used the hard lines…..

It's the European spec head unit so I must strengthen the CD changer port ACC line.

Please never use adaptor device USA Spec PA11-HON on the CD changer port without this on European spec head unit.

Depending on the state of the targeted device, 100% guaranteed to see smoke coming out of your head unit.

This side of the board is ready.

The power I/F board was also damaged so small repair had to be done.
