Emergency Gauge/Tail Light Assy service 02

Rate this Entry

This sponge like dust seal always breaks into bits and pieces when trying to remove it.
I’ll make new one.

Interesting to see tiny dot like debris/marking left on the speedo gauge.
Going to leave it as it’s almost impossible to clean it without leaving the trace or it could strip off the coating.

Another factor of the warning light, the boot section.

Addition to this, the owner didn’t like the heavy condensation of the tail light assy and
after checking the price of the UK spec tail light assy from HUK and the cause of the warning light,
we decided to get the JDM spec tail light housing, wires, sensor, etc as the complete assy was already discontinued.
Still, it’s cheaper than getting the UK spec one from HUK although that was before the exchange rate got significantly worse.

The number of light bulbs and wattage are different from UK spec and if the regulation changes for some reason in the future,
the owner just need to remove/replace the bulb so fairly easy.

Minor modification on the wiring to get the rear fog light working and wanted to test it first before the assembly.

L & R - small light only

L & R - small light with Brake On.

Reverse/back-up light

Rear fog

So, ready to create fresh JDM tail light assy from scrach.

Delicate touch required as I don’t want to put any markings on the new lens of the tail light.
