Now it's time for the marathon valve clearance adjustment.

It's like talking to the metal.....

I prefer doing this in 3 rounds to minimise the deviation and temperature control is important during the winter.
One of the negative side of using that smelly assembly lube is that it will change the feeling of the gauge compared to the eng oil.
If you are not familiar with this task,
you should adjust the clearance when there is almost no oil left at the rocker arm/cam shaft.

I prefer using the gauge manufactured by the company that only makes the measuring equipments and nothing else.
Same for the torque wrench used for delicate torque control at some of the internal engine parts.

2nd round finished at all six cyl and just after starting the 3rd round at #1 cyl, felt some changes at the gauge feeling.

Seems like the outside temperature got really low tonight so even with the heater, the garage temperature dropped as well.
So, stopped for the day and had to repeat the process again the following day.

Finally, 3rd round finished and double checked the torque and clearance at each rocker arms again.

Time to close the engine.

There were some scrach markings on the front and rear TB covers but not big enough to be alarming. Probably the TB tension was loose in the past and also someone didn't install the covers properly.

Looks like the owner replaced the A/C idle pulley in the past. Nice shiny looking. Famous for making squeaking noise with bearing failure.

The owner bought some of the parts for the Eng Refresh from US but the package was missing some of the key items as well as wrong spec coolant hoses included.
Based on my past experience with other owners buying the parts by themselves, I thought this would happen that bought full set of my standard Eng Refresh parts from Japan in advance any way so that I don't need to worry about the missing/wrong parts.
So far, it was missing the TB lower cover, cover grommet, several coolant hoses, etc.

All important tiny rubber seal around the TB tension adjuster bolt. Probably missing from your engine.

Just keep putting back the parts....
