Started to clean the cam holders.

Due to the blowby gas and about 1 year old engine oil, the sticky black oil sludge was quite stubborn even for this low mileage NSX.

Decided to soak them in the cleaner fluid for longer period.

Quite normal for any engines with combination of short distance driving and when the engine oil is nearly 1 year old so nothing to worry.

While waiting for the fluid to work into the dirt, decided to start re-assembling the engine cooling system.

The O-rings replaced at the radiator drain and bleeder plugs.

The gaskets replaced on the two drain plugs at the centre floor pipes.

New thermostat installed (old one on the left).

Torque checked the drain plug at the rear engine block.

New header tank was installed for the leak check purpose but it will be removed again to allow extra room for cleaning the engine.

Installed the WP and torque checked all 9 special sealant bolts.

Carried out the vacuum leak check and left it for 30min.

Not even a tiny movement at the gauge so happy with the test result.

At this stage, there is no leakage with the cooling system.

Very important to confirm this after the installation of new WP.

You don't want to carry out this check only to find a leak after re-assembling everything.

Any leakage at the WP will result in repeat of whole TB service again....

As I use vacuum fill method for the coolant, the system will be leak checked one more time during the refill process.

Important as I'll be disconnecting the header tank for cleaning the engine.

More to follow.
