A/C CCU Board service 01

Rate this Entry

While carrying out the Eng Refresh, another owner sent in his A/C CCU board
for preventative maintenance.

He wanted to clean his cabin temperature sensor due to lots of dust
trapped at the aspirator fan (and possibly making annoying noise) and
although he was not experiencing noticeable issues with his A/C system,
he thought it would be a good idea to have the CCU serviced while
the centre console was off.

As mentioned many times in my posts, very good decision.

By the time you start experiencing A/C issue, it’s too late and
significant damages were already done to the board.
It will save you the time and the money if you act in advance before
start experiencing the issue.

The acid from C44 was splashed like exploded component and
corroding the area around DM9, 10 and 11.

Also, the nearby tracks were all affected.
I need to remove at least DM10 and 11 to inspect and clean the area.

There were leakages from other capacitors as well.

Started removing the capacitors.

Despite the owner didn’t feel any issues, 5 capacitors were already leaking
and the area around C44 required serious inspection.
