Interior noise 06

Took lots of photos showing the multiple security devices and all these wires
so hope the owner can see them in his web photo album.

And because I had to re-route so many wires and
with this hot and humid weather, it really slowed me down.
I think I spent more time dealing with all these security related wires than
re-installing the dashboard, interior panels, etc.

Also, I had to install one parts at a time and then shake/tap around
the installed parts to look for any noise, then remove the parts again,
apply felt wool, re-install and repeat the same process on all other parts
so it took hours to re-install everything.

Can’t show some of the photos for security reason but
the owner will see the process.

Even the new defrost panel required the extra felt wool at
several places in order to stop the noise.

Dashboard back in place.
The metal putty worked really well and it is now much rigid than before.

New clips on the ceiling trim.

Before the installation, tapped around the left front top section
of the windshield and ceiling to confirm that there is no noise
when there is no parts installed.

The centre rear section of ceiling trim seems to have taken set in
wrong shape that there is small gap at the back even after
replacing the clips.
At this stage, it is not making any rattling noise.

One of the cause of the squeaking noise around the left top
forward section of the ceiling.
It was from the split at the sun visor.

Due to the material used and the way the shaft was inserted,
it will make noise under vibration.
Unfortunately, there is no quick fix and instead of trying to repair it,
it would be cheaper (and personally, looks better) to get hold of
later spec cloth/textile type black visor although eventually,
you will need other mating black coloured panels/trims.

Another source of the noise.
The ceiling light holder/cover.

If you aim your A/C air towards the ceiling especially in this hot weather,
you will hear faint mosquito like noise.

This is the same for the thin plastic frame around the rear view mirror
so I removed it and in the process of applying felt wool although
someone already tried to fix the noise by applying some sort of glue and
slowing me down again.

So, pretty much everything back in place apart from the
security sensor installation and obviously, the left side seat.

No warning lights on the dash, tested the audio headunit and A/C CCU,
all the switches on the dashboard, centre console, etc and
everything worked fine.

Probably go out for the 1st test driving session before
installing the passenger seat in case I have to remove
some of the parts again.

Nearly there.
