A/C CCU Board service

Rate this Entry

Before going out for the test driving session, wanted to finish
the A/C CCU board service.

As reported earlier here (Eng Refresh 02), I found that
the R & L condenser fans and the A/C compressor switched themselves on
even when the CCU was in Off position.

Addition to the CCU, the Fan Control Unit could be faulty but first thing first.

While removing the capacitors, the lead came off from some of the capacitors.
Had to remove ZD1 in order to clean the leaked acid.
I’m glad that the acid didn’t damage IC2.

Lots of hard wires used for re-creating the missing pad.

One jumper wire used at the other side.

Upgraded capacitors installed, quick bench testing and ready for the coating.

Back on the car and carried out the Self Diag test as well as
Function & Operation check.

Addition to these, my own scenario testing was carried out and
all went fine at this point.

Checked the operation of water valve for the temperature control.

However, on one occasion during the scenario testing,
the condenser fans started to operate randomly so it was confirmed that
addition to the CCU board, the Fan Control Unit was also having problem.

Any way, from CCU point of view, it’s done.

Hope the owner will have trouble free A/C operation for many years.
