With the age and the heat, the coolant header tank will turn into dark yellow colour over the years and sooner or later, it will start to crack around the middle section where the upper and lower sections were glued together. Good call to replace the header tank. It was already cracked and leaking the coolant. The coolant hoses were also didn't feel healthy so at the time of TB/WP service, it would be best to replace all of them. You can replace the header tank without loosing too much coolant but I always bleed the air afterwards ...
