    by , 10-03-2011 at 11:29 PM (Today at Atelier Kaz - ex-Honda R&D, F1, Indy/CART engineer)

Started to rebuild so many damaged circuit tracks and pads.

After more than 10 hours, finally I managed to get to the point where I was happy to power up the board for the first time after receiving it.

At the end, I used 8 x hard wires, 4 x jumper wires for the rebuilt process, lots and lots of soldering bridges to reinforce the circuit pads against the noise and ripple.

I have worked on many CCU boards but this one made ...

I think this board will hit the new history record for me for the size of the area that I had to scrape off due to acid corrosion.

Also, it will require lots and lots of jumper wire, hard wire and soldering bridge to re-create the dissolved circuit.

    Doesn’t look great at all…..

After the initial cleaning, it was quite obvious that some of the circuit tracks and pads were already gone/missing by the poor previous work….

Also, the leakage from the original capacitors were left too long that it dissolved so many tracks.

    by , 08-03-2011 at 11:40 PM (Today at Atelier Kaz - ex-Honda R&D, F1, Indy/CART engineer)

The sensor was on back order and after long-long waiting period, finally, it arrived at my place.

There were also some small ...

Area around C10 and C14 showed huge paddle of leakage…

And the connector was already melted by someone…

It’s going to take long time to service this board….
