  1. Bose Speaker AMP Service 02

    by , 28-02-2012 at 10:32 PM (Today at Atelier Kaz - ex-Honda R&D, F1, Indy/CART engineer)

The left side door and foot well speaker boxes are now back in place and
started working on the right side door.

As I don’t have enough time to finish everything in time before leaving for
the alignment service, decided to take the AMP out of the speaker box but
put almost everything back on the car before visiting the alignment platform.

Before visiting the alignment platform, it is my standard practice to check
the state of the alignment adjusters and apply silicone grease to the adjuster body.

  3. Bose Speaker AMP Service 01

    Time to refurbish the AMP.
Don’t have much time this week so it’s going to be brief update.

Normally, I prefer taking all three AMPs out of the car in one go

to work on the left side door and the foot well speakers first.
Then, re-install them, and if time allows, work on the right side
door AMP before visiting the alignment place.

The owner reported that from time to time,
    he couldn’t open the lid.

Adjusting the lid alignment is always tricky as the clearance is very narrow
and while the lid, tip of the opener cable and nearby parts are plastic,
the wing is aluminium so not sure how the temperature affects the gap
considering the design of the lid area.

Normally, I have to remove the wheel arch liner to rotate the opener cable tip
    but this

  5. A/C Evaporator

    by , 25-02-2012 at 10:10 PM (Today at Atelier Kaz - ex-Honda R&D, F1, Indy/CART engineer)

Started to wash the A/C Evaporator.

When I removed the blower motor unit, it didn’t look too bad
but from the amount of debris trapped at the windscreen,
engine bay, boot lid, etc, I knew it would be very dirty.
