Back to working on the CCU board from another owner.

After carefully inspecting the damaged circuit and missing connection, decided on the repair procedure and started the rebuild process.

For C11 and surrounding area, had to use three hard wires to re-establish the connection as well as strengthen the GND pad.

Similar method was used for C32.

Although it looked fine, if you use macro zoom on the digital camera, you can see the hair line crack around the hole.

You need to be careful on how to fix this kind of crack because if you just simply solder the capacitor, it may look connected properly at the surface but there will be an air gap underneath resulting in poor connection over the time.

Had to use one jumper wire for C44 as the original circuit track was completely dissolved.

All of the capacitors were now replaced with the higher spec ones and passed the initial bench testing.

Now waiting for the conformal coating to be applied before going through the full test procedure using my NSX together with the other board from the NSX that I’m working on at the moment.

Once done, will be start working on the Bose AMP as well.

I hope everything goes smoothly and aiming to return the parts by the end of this week.

Regards,
Kaz
