  1. Airbag (SRS)

    Introduction
Since its launch, the NSX was equipped with a driver's airbag. As of 1993 a passenger airbag and seat belt tensioners were added. The system is of rather simple design with the ECU containing an acceleration sensor that works together with two dash sensors and fires the airbag and seat tensioners upon front impact.

  2. Plastic Repair

    Introduction
Broken-of plastics, especially mounting tabs on things like door cards (interior door cover), speaker mounting points and the defroster panel at the front window are to be expected considering the age of the NSX, especially after being overtightened. There are multiple ways to fix issues like these.

  3. Radio Head Unit - Cassette Belt Replacement

    Introduction
Beside ageing capacitors, the NSX's Radio Head Unit suffers from another well known issue in the world of cassette drives: Lengthened capstan drive belts. Typical life time of the belt is estimated to be around 20 years but might vary based on storage conditions and usage.

    Diagnostic
First indications of a failing belt are functions related to reverse operation acting strangely. Typical observations are auto-reversing instead of rewinding when using skip track, ...
  4. Radio Head Unit - Capacitor Replacement

    Introduction
The Radio Head Unit of the NSX suffers from ageing capacitors the same way as many other ECUs in the vehicle. Similar to others it takes about 30 years to manifest itself but high temperature and humidity can cause issues to appear much earlier.
Units that have not been taken care of can become damaged beyond repair and a capacitor replacement should be performed as a precautionary measure even if no problems have been observed yet.

    Diagnostic
    As leakage ...

  5. Climate Control Unit (CCU) - Fahrenheit to Celsius Conversion

    Introduction

The Climate Control Unit (CCU) consists of two parts: The main PCB and the front unit. The main PCB is identical across all model years and target countries the vehicle was produced for. The front unit is different with regards to the temperature dial and temperature value on the display, though.
