Thread: Changing headlamp bulbs (pop-up)

  1. Default Changing headlamp bulbs (pop-up)

I've only had a quick look so far, but changing the headlight bulb does not look an easy job! Any hints or tips on how to go about it?

Open the bonnet, unscrew the black plastic cover, change bulb, screw black plastic cover back in place, close bonnet.

Test using the switch by the right of the steering wheel to make sure you have tightened everything up properly.

Use a torch to look at how everything goes in first, you need small hands.

it's not hard - I did it in the carpark outside halfords without tools or even having researched the method.

pretty much the same as most other cars, and in fact easier than some I've had before.

  Would you believe I trained as a mechanic in a previous life too! Changed my front pads in under 30mins last week, but haven't looked at how to change a bl00dy headlamp bulb! I'll check it tonight.

    Default Obvious, yet counter-intuitive

it is much much easier to do the job when the lights are DOWN rather than raised ( took me bloody hours to figure that out first time I did the job! )
