    Ah, so YOU'RE one of the yellow cars that stopped me and Nobby getting onto the circuit!

    Great morning out - some seriously beautiful stuff there, and it got very packed very quickly - taking photos was a "quick, there's a gap" affair - will post up some stuff on PH in a minute, linky to my album below.

    But I can't believe the jobsworth gate-boy - neither us two nor 1Y got onto the circuit because "they want variety" - utter joke, given some of the stuff they had there...and I mean 20-30 Porkers, 20+ Fezzas, 10 Esprits, as well as the "what's this doing at Supercar Sunday?" Elises, S2000s, Caterfields, Focus RSs, old Cossies and then the really "WTF?" MkVI Golf diesel, 123d and Escort 1600i!)

    ...and as if refusing NSXs wasn't a capital crime, we got to the car park (7.30am as well - bloody early start from Stratford) to find a CLK-63 Black Edition! Uber-rare uber-Merc, and they've sent it to the car park! At that point we realised 'resistance was futile'...

    "No man with a good car needs to be justified"

    Blue '08 FD2 CTR - big, ITR-sized shoes to fill...
    Yellow '96 NSX 3.0 - oh was it worth the wait!
    Black '99 ITR - well, I had to have another one, the first was so much fun. Miss this one even more than #1...
    Blue '03 S2000 - SOLD, flawed but fun
    Blue '04 Focus TDCi Sport - SOLD, very good fun for a diesel!
    Black '00 ITR - SOLD, still missed
    Red '98 Civic VTi - SOLD, probably still bombproof

    Last year, I arrived about 8am and it was less busy - so we got waved into the circuit, but the public car park in the circuit was still 2/3rd full so the first marshall was basically waving everyone in. The 2nd guy determines whether you go left to the track or right to the car park... and he had no idea what he was looking at. Waved into the circuit was anything with an Aston Martin badge (ie a whole line of them that arrived). Waved into the car park (apart from a succession of gleaming NSXs )...

    * Porsche UK's own 911 GT2
    * Ford RS200
    * Ferrari Daytona
    etc etc

    It's got to be a nightmare trying to marshall something like this, when people (visitors) and 'exhibitors' are arriving and departing all the time, but it is a pity if you rock up having expected to get a "place" to be simply waved on, then finding a mix of dealer-supplied (sometimes filthy) cars and a mix of stuff that presumably only got in because they arrived at 7am...

    The above is one of the reasons I decided not to go this year, although I'm kicking myself a little over missing the Eggs. I'll have to get myself over to the Cliveden event.

    You should get to Wilton House this year, then No doubt, all of the proper supercars that were there today, will be at Wilton...

    Put it in your calendars...
