But if you do that they do tend to lunch engines regularly. A friend of mine had one that had £9K of engine work done after it broke the timing chain. 18mths later it did it again! OK the car had been breathed on in the turbos and mapping department but obviously it was too much for the engine to stay reliable.
I was offered the dead car for £2K but had no room at the time. Same, would have made a good project
It does seem they vary a bit but most are close to stated power when factory fresh. In fact a few have been dyno'd and shown more ponies than expected.
The boys at the Rototest factory do their own tests and have bolted a nearly new and a 27K (Km) RS4 to their kit and the older one had lost, or never had, 17whp. Interestingly a 15k (Km) old R8 made 26whp more than the nearly new RS4!

I've bought mine with a year's warranty that covers everything, and roadside assistance. Funny as I have never bought a Honda with a warranty before, or worried about it!
Though if I look at the Honda CRV forums, there are loads of people with various problems, just like looking through Audi forums. Maybe it is an impression that NSXs have less problems due to smaller numbers? Also our cars usually aren't daily drivers, and probably treated with more sympathy than the average Audi?

Our previous car was a Supra auto, and believe me it would hang on to the red line in every gear and change faster than I ever could with a manual. It's one hell of an auto box if you boot it!

Even so an old slushmatic (torque converter) style transmission will absorb more power than a manual transmission so it'll be slower overall. On the plus side you'll get consistent launches. On a circuit the auto will be significant handicap.
