I just think splitting them is tight, and that's from a Scotsman!!

Really when Rob agreed to sell me some parts then went down this route I was a bit miffed. That's in the past though and it's up to him what he does....I'll always find more bargains elsewhere. Just last week I got myself an OEM centre console to fit my Double-din Sat-Nav unit and even though these are hard to find, the parts are out there. At least I'll get a decent fit with it...

Did you buy the 02+ wheels in the end?

    Gary
If you find another centre console Gary, I'd be interested.

I gave an identical set of mats away free! all the buyer had to do was cover postage and from N.I it was £12.00 I think?? for the 2 mats.

    Good luck Simon.

Can you tell me what those Bose line attentuator were again? PC-1609 or something like that you said? So these come of the speaker level o/p's of the headunit? You left the phono/RCA's unused?

    Here you go mate:

Obviously you won't need one if you have enough RCA outputs on your head unit, I only had phono output for the bass with my unit.

I posted a wanted add but nobody, replied. It seems the NSX parts buying is about as shady as the selling sometimes. Nobody gives any heads up on anything anymore but when it comes time for asking questions...

    Thanks Simon.

The problem I had with the Alfa-Bose set-up in the past was that the RCA output levels of the Pioneer HU were not enough to drive the Bose amp sufficiently. Volume could not be brought up high enough. Using the speaker output raw would overdrive the Bose amp and cause distortion very early.

The speaker level attenuator I used before (can't remember the type) was therefore to bring the signal down to a level the Bose was happy with. Effectively attenuating an amplified signal from the HU to then re-amplify again in the Bose unit! Not exactly audiophile but it works ok for a car!! I guess the other option is using the RCA outputs and then line drivers to "up" the signal to a slightly higher level that the Bose can then amplify to getter a fuller volume range.....

Final option I suppose is remove the Bose but as it works ok I can't be bothered!!

    Cheers,

    Gary

The technical nature of this for sale ad baffles me. What is useful though is the Rca stereo chatter... I have a clarion head unit with 3x 4v preouts just sat in the shed. Will these just plug and play with the connectors to the Bose speakers?

I think we need an audio section; lots of people have made improvements and lots would like to but the know how ends up all over the ship shop. Where's number 1... Make it so (can't believe I just wrote that!)
