Thread: Pictures of a NEW NSX-RACE-CAR

I can't say I like it. Just another generic front engined racecar much like the Aston's, Corvette, Nissan 350Z & GTR, Lexus SC430 etc and even Ginetta G50

Well I certainly won't be in the queue for this new thing if it ever turns into a road version so I'll take the old girl off your hands Paul. I think between yours and mine I'd have ALL the NSX bases covered

    Cheers

Would you prefer her wrapped or eau natural Magnum Sir?

I'm currently thinking about the work involved to strip her down to near stock ... unless you're looking for all the toys left in situ .....

PS Remember dibs on the 02 plus LOL!

Regrading the HSV-10 as nice as it would be to have one, who knows what the road car would be.

If they have any brains left it will be sub 50K 400 BHP and sub 4 seconds to 60!

    Your not after much then

On a serious note can you list all the brand new cars which do meet the above criteria.
2005 NA2 NSX, Berlina Black with full red leather interior.
2016 NC1 NSX, Casino White Pearl with red semi-aniline leather and alcantara.

Which IMHO would take it further away from the NSX concept.

The NSX was expensive due it's construction and quality. It was fast but not faster than it's competition and the straight line figures were secondary to it's ability to cover the ground, real roads, quickly.

Circa 400Hp is about right but it should feature leading edge construction techniques and materials which would push the price up. £80K sounds about to me... and engine HAS to be behind the driver or it's simply no successor, just another front engined GT.

    Cheers

I'd hopefully hold on to them for use on another NSX

I think realistically they should be aiming for R8 type money with a good spec / performance. If they hit your ask then they couldn't supply enough of them!

    Corvette comes to mind!

If it is going to be made, then the US will be the target market!

    Choose your poison:

    Hard to argue the case!

    I'll have a go...

Given that we live this side of the pond the 'vette just doesn't work on European roads. It's too big (actually too wide) and too stiff. I like the gen 6 'vette but it's a broadsword against the NSX scalpel.

I guess if the project were driven by Honda US rather than Japan they might choose to go toe to toe (price & grunt) with Corvette? However, for me this is too too far away from the original NSX concept to still be connected to it. Call it a new Honda/Acura flagship if you like, just don't call it the new NSX.

Think of it in Jaguar E type evolution thing, or more so of a VW Beetle.

The standard Corvette Coupe and Grand Sport Coupe may come in at under £50K but it will all depend on the exchange rate and how much tax plus duty you have to pay when you import it, plus they take 4.1 secs to 0-60. So to meet your original criteria you need to splash out $74K (plus Vat plus duty) on the Z06.

I like the Corvette but what brand new car can I buy this weekend from a dealer in the UK with a warrnty etc that meets your original criteria.

The only car I can think of which may of meet your criteria would of been one of the TVR's but not sure even the ones that could do a sub 4 sec 0 to 60 cost under £50k.
