silly question, the red hazard warning light switch on the combination switches.....
is it supposed to illuminate and flash with the hazard lights??

Yes it should. Must be just a blown bulb but the parts system does not show one as far as I can see, just the complete switch assembly....at the best part of £700! I'm sure a man of your calibre could find a way of dissecting and replacing the bulb though.
