    Default replacement engine question.....Darren

Quick question - you had to get yourself a new engine if I recall? I'm sure there was a thread about it but I can't seem to find it.

How did you go about getting it, and what was the cost?

(Note, I don't need a new engine, just someone I know was asking)

    Hi Damian

I placed my requirement for an engine on findapart.co.uk which resulted in japparts.co.uk contacting me as they had one from a trashed car.

I paid £2500 delivered for the engine which I was told was from a 1995 with 46,000 miles on - I have no idea whether this info was in fact true and the fact that the engine no. was earlier than the original engine from my 1992 does make me take this with a pinch of salt.

as a back up plan Mark from Dali lined up a brand new crated 3.2 motor from Honda for me at $10,000, but this was not needed in the end.

Thanks a lot. Presumably that was just the engine, didn't include gearbox?

    correct - no gearbox

also it was an exchange deal - the dead engine was collected 2 weeks later as part of the deal

I have a spare gearbox by the way
