Thread: My Experience with A S MOTORSPORT ( ADNAN )

Thumbs up My Experience with A S MOTORSPORT ( ADNAN )

Since the Turbo Conversion, there has been endless faults and problems. Problem after problem. It was quite unbelievable.
I hardly take my baby out of the garage, but every time I did, it was problem after problem.
I dropped my NSX off at A S MOTORSPORT on the 31st August 2018 for a Turbo Conversion. The job was meant to be one month but turned out to be three months. While A S MOTORSPORT, had my car, they posted about my car on their Facebook page. I received a couple of messages from two other members that warned me to take it elsewhere as this company will do, ' more damage than good.' I couldn't contemplate on taking it elsewhere because it had been paid upfront. So after three months wait, the car was eventually ready for collection on 27th December 2018. First impressions were NOT good. I can see that someone had 'cooked' my brakes. It would take a lot of abuse to do that. Not happy but what can I do? Drove the car away and within 30 minutes on the motorway, I can smell ' burning rubber '. I stopped to check, it turned out the Exhaust Tail Pipe was mounted too close to the Valance, hence melting it! When I was driving the car a few days after I got it home, I noticed smoke coming from the Turbo, I later found out that the cause was because the Oil Return Pipe was NOT tightened!
When I took the car to the Europe Tour 2019, I noticed the Exhaust was puffing black smoke after a short drive but it was fine on the way back, so I wasn't too concerned at the time. A couple of weeks after I went back to
A S MOTORSPORT for a clutch change. Found oil drip on the garage floor, this time , they failed to tighten the Turbo Mount which are the Bolts that holds the Gearbox together!
Fast forward to May 2020, I took the car out for a drive and noticed there was Blue Smoke coming out of the Exhaust. As I was a bit concerned, I decided to seek help from a Specialist Mechanic. A great big can of worms were to be opened. During his diagnosis, he found that there signs of Detonation on the Rear Bank Piston and odd noises from that area which warranted further investigation. We decided to open up the engine as I wanted to upgrade the Head Gasket anyway.

During the ' Strip Down,' what we found was shocking:

    1. There were loads of Metal grids and Carbon debris in the Sump. (Pic)
    2. The Oil Strainer was partly blocked (pic)
    3. The Camshaft was Grinding into the Head Journal which we believe was due to Contamination ( Possible cause when they drilled the hole for the oil return pipe and failed to clean it out properly or when they were welding the Baffle Plate, debris could have got caught up in the Cam Journal. (Pic)
    4. The Petrol Return Pipe was NOT Clipped in.(pic)
    5. The Injector Rubber Seal was NOT installed properly. (Pic)
    6. The four nuts that hold the Throttle Body 3 nuts were only 'Hand tight.'
    7. He charged me £700 for ID ( Bosch) Injectors but fitted Denso injectors which we think are also FAKE.. When we noticed the serial number on one of the injectors had been distorted, we decided to get them checked by an injector Specialist. They put them through an injector cleaner, the spray pattern was uneven which confirms that one or more of the injectors are FAKE. (pic)
    8. Due to the amount of metal grids going through the Turbo, it now needed repair too.
    Fast forward to January 2021.
Due to A S Motorsport NOT willing to provide us the password to my own ECU, we had to do a new Mapping all over again. During the new Mapping, they found the VTEC System was NOT even wired in and the wideband sensor is faulty.
The nightmare of 2 years is finally coming to an end. A S Motorsport has always denied responsibility and eventually stopped taking my calls but it doesn't take a genius to figure out the short coming. I've had to spend £££££ thousands more to correct these numerous mistakes and faults.
