Default Parts to replace in older cars

    Hi All,

As I am using this year to get as much work done to my car as possible (I'm ever getting around to all the cosmetic work) it has made me think about what to replace on my car as its a 1991/2.

I have had the water pump and timing belt changed at the last dealer service, as I saw that as a priority. Now I am looking at the cooling system hoses, which got me thinking , what else could / should be replaced?

    Cheers,

    Jim

Hard to tell without knowing the car. TB/WP, coolant hoses are a good start. Don't forget the electronics.

    Radiator & header tank.
I would think that if your car has been sitting outside for a long while, all the brake calipers will need attention.
    Brake, clutch, gearbox fluids.

radiator was changed a few years back when original one blew on me (mishimoto one installed now) and header tank was also changed after a leak at the join.

Clutch, yes, I am thinking along the lines of up-rated with lightened flywheel.

I have been running it regularly since the MoT and brakes seem fine for now.

    Cheers
