Forgive my ignorance, but what is that in the area that usually holds golf clubs?

    car.

This is an oil cooling system for the gearbox.
    Nice idea and solution.

The oil temperature of the gearbox is tendentially higher than from the engine, so an cooling system makes sence for a race car.

I'm not sure if I will do a complete restauration of this car (~6 months labor) or if I will sale that car.

This car is extremly loud, like a F1 car.

I remember on that when I sit at the grand stand near eau rouge at Spa Francorchamps and the car droves by. Crazy.

^ Thanks - is the boot/ trunk ventilated to let the heat out, or is the volume of the space sufficient to allow adequate cooling?

I bet that noise is / was something else at ~9000rpm !!!
