  1. Default Type S up for auction at Silverstone

    Hi All,

    Hope everyone is well,

I noticed a Type S is for sale next week at the Silverstone Auctions. I can't remember who the owner is, so was hoping for a bit of background?

Also interested to know if the car still comes with its original BBS wheels.

    Cheers,
    Rob

That one was imported by Torque GT - it features on their website.

I don't remember it being a member on here's car. None of the photos of that car showed the original BBS wheels, so I would guess they didn't make it over. There is a set on Yahoo Auctions Japan at the moment, but be sitting down when you see what they want for them.

Am I the only one who thinks the estimate is a little on the lite side for 1 of 3 in the UK and these virtually never come up for sale?

Evening chaps, long time no post

Coincidentally my Type S didn't come with it's correct BBS wheels. Fortunately a set showed up on ebay in the UK a few months after I got the car and I managed to secure them. I'm almost certain they were my car's original wheels which were lost or sold after the previous UK owner "upgraded" to larger 17/18 Khan wheels.

A few years later another set came up on ebay and a member here snapped them up. I seem to remember they refinished the wheels in black?

    Cheers

I also think that the estimate is a little bit low if you see what Type-S are going for in Japan. Maybe it finds its way back to Japan...

    Sensibly, maybe.

As ever with these things it comes down to demand and I'd imagine that is very low for a Type-S. However, just 2 committed people wanting the car would be enough demand to blow the reserve out of the water.

    It'll be interesting to see.
