I like your taste of humour. Yes, DIY rules. I'd rate the difficulty level of such a involving project as a 9.5 out of 10. Not to think about the endless list of errors to avoid.

I've done about 300 km with mine and all is good so far. The differential gets quieter the more I drive with the new MTF filled in.

There is some play in the bearing even when new. The question is by how much? I've found out that while turning the intermediate shaft fast by hand it wasn't smooth compared to another car with less miles on it. The bearing is NOT prone to fail. I could have used mine longer even with 190k km on it.

Pride, it takes longer than half an hour just to pull the intermediate shaft from the guide and gearbox.

EDIT: the bearing is NOT prone to fail.

    Has the same play

But again Goldi is right- while turning fast -used bearing ist not smoothly (I bought two so I change)
I tried to buy in the country but received that there is no such in the catalog (no such size).Markings that are on the sealant are not the bearing number.

    By the way...

I ran the experiment: I put both bearings on an axis rotating at 350 rev / min for 10 minutes
and measured the bearing temperature - The new bearing was 17 degrees lower than used.

inquisitiveness prompted me to look inside

The grease has lost its lubricating properties - it was on the casing and not on the balls (little bit)
After this experience - the next step will be inspection Driveshafts

By the way,I noticed small cracks at Rear Engine Mount

    Hi Ozon

Great job you are doing! Very cool little experiment with the bearings! Happy to see that this DIY is doable if (God forbit) I should ever have to rebuild my transmission
