On Instagram there is a option to get a link to embed pictures, however when you paste the link generated in it just shows as code. Wrap it in HTML or Code tags and still just shows as code.
Is it possible?

With the current forum software, it's looking for the direct link to the photo so you will need to inspect the page element and find the source.
Then, you need to tweak it a little.
There are several ways but if you visit your account and right click on the photo, view page info, select 'Media' tab at the top and look for the location of your photo.
Copy the link but remove everything after .jpg to finalize the link as .jpg
