Thread: Spare Wheel Problem

    Default Spare Wheel Problem

I posted a week ago detailing the splitting of my Spacesaver tyre and the seeming impossibility of getting a replacement.
    What do other members do?
Do you dispence with the spare and carry a liquid rubber aerosol or is there a non standard replacement wheel/tyre available at an acceptable price?
If one dispences with the spare would that pose a wheight distribution issue since the nose would be considerably lighter and what about the MOT issue?
    Hope you can help.

I drive mine without the spare and have no problems with handling etc, Keep a can of tyre foam in the boot in case of punctures. As for the MOT, they can only pass or fail on installed equipment, if you have the spare on board they will check it, if not they wont. They cannot fail you if you d'ont have a spare. Have passed 5 MOT's like that.

I only carry the spare if i'me off abroad and you might be a fair way from a fix.

The spare wheel is not part of the MOT at all.

Even if it's flat, bald or whatever its not part of the test.
