Thread: Na1 nsxr

    Default Na1 nsxr

Here is a couple of additional photos of the NA1 NSX R I have imported taken when I collected the car on New Year's Eve, the number plates are fastened temporarily with cable ties.

Thank you to Graham at Plans for assisting with the import and registration process this end. Also thank you to Kaz who very kindly helped with translation of some records.

The link below provides more photographs, most are taken from when the car was in the Japanese showroom.

The car is in very good condition with under 47k miles recorded. It was first registered in 1996 (although production ceased in 1995 I believe) it is number 447 out of the total 483 produced. Many of you will spot the car has been fitted with NA2 Type R brake discs and callipers, which is a modification I can live with.

If anyone else has imported a NA1 or 2 R type recently please make contact (by a private message if you would prefer).

What a great feeling is getting behind the wheel of an NSX-R after having own a regular NSX, something I managed when I purchased mine in 2006. The NSX-R must be experienced to be understood. even a SC NSX still does not have the urgency of the NSX-R. Granted my old one had shorter gears and Mugen Diff, but still, different beast to a regular NSX.

Enjoy it in good health and spirits!

Bit off topic, any chance of more pics/specs on your Escort?

AR sorry Escort? I am not clear what you mean.

l agree the difference between the R and a standard car is very significant, over the years I have read many comments on the noise being too much to hold a conversation at motorway speeds and the suspension set up being unsuitable for UK roads, although it is early days I cannot agree with either of these views.

There is an escort in the back of a photo above, guessing that is a photo taken in Plans workshop?

ok yes I see it now, this is at the import handlers not Plans. They also had an un-restored Dino.

Sorry mate I thought it was your garage. Lovely Ford Escort around the back.

Only problem I found when I had my NSX-R was that the seats do not accommodate broad shoulders.
