Now if only Acura/Honda could have made the price start from $150,000 we could have seen a dollar to pound starting price of just £100,000 in the uk.
Now that would have been a true world first for this technology at that price point but no doubt the starting price in the uk will be more like £150,000

No we couldn't; go and look at prices here and at a few few .com versions and generally cars cost the same in sterling as they do in bucks. It's partly PPP, partly taxes and a lot of Rip-off Britain. Why Acura is your spare-parts friend...

Thing is, the car had been rumoured (by those more in the know than the usual hacks) @ around $150K upwards. £200K with all the bling toot glued onto it doesn't sound at all out of step with what it's meant to be.

“I find myself irresistibly attracted to cars that nobody else buys. The NSX is a classic of the genre because nobody buys it and yet it’s a fantastic car. It’s got a wonderful compactness and simplicity and unpretentiousness to it. Honda rudely continues to make them whether we like it or not, even though there can be no commercial logic in doing so — I thoroughly admire that.” Rowan Atkinson

Probably the biggest issue is 'it's just a Honda, and a made in USA one'
so this poses the question, spend £150+ on one?
    yes it will be rare
yes it will be full of technology (originally ahead of its time)

honda's F1 foray this year has been very interesting, would Jenson drive either in 2016 if he wasn't being paid too.

i'm in that quandary of hanging on for one of the 1st cars to arrive, maybe say f' it and go buy something proven, better 'super car drive (how heavy is the new NSX again)
    McLaren 570s
    Porsche Turbo S
    Porsche GT3

were we really thinking the NSX would be in this car sector when we handed over our deposits

just look at our recent press release blurb from Honda UK for making us feel excited.

Just remember that the new NSX is only up against those 3 above on price, not technology - you have to look further up the respective ranges to the more comparable model - plus they aren't available any more P1, 918 La F etc. ...... and look at their price tags again ......

It is probably up against those three in terms of performance as well as price though, given that the other three you mention all have around 400hp extra. I doubt people will be buying for the technology as much as how it drives and what the performance is like.

Not true any more. Mercedes AMG GT uk price £97,200 (note this includes VAT at 20%) US price $129,900 (note this does not include any Tax as each state has a different tax rate. (In New york add 8.875% in Los Angeles it will range from 9% to 10%).

So actual cost in NY is $141,429. Using the current exchange rate of £1 to $1.49 the Mercedes will cost you £94,918 a saving of just £2k plus the steering wheel on the wrong side!
