    Default Leman 24hr

    Hey all,

I would like to attend leman 24 in June and had a few questions I hope some of you lovely people may be able to answer:

    - Where is the best place to camp?
    - Where is best to watch the action?
    - What is the rough average cost (by my sums £500?)
    - Are any of you going to this years?

    Thanks!
    Joe

    - Where is the best place to camp?
Depends how close to the action you want to be, and your tolerance for noise! Of the official ACO on site camp-sites "Houx" is probably the best. Check Beermountain.com for some professional Le Mans go'ers opinions. http://beermountain.com/index.php?page=campsites

    - Where is best to watch the action?
A ticket for one of the home straight grandstands opposite the pits is best for the Start and Finish. It's also great for watching night time pit action but they're expensive when for the other 20hrs you'll be elsewhere. Make sure you get a ticket that gives you access to the Mulsanne and Arnage corner viewing areas. They're a drive or shuttle bus (long queues so drive yourselves) away but essential for the late night and early hours viewing. The general access ticket gets you in everywhere else so a visit to "Karting Nord" and "Tertre Rouge" areas during the race are a must.

    - What is the rough average cost (by my sums £500?)
Race tickets are cheap, it's the rest of the package that adds up. Not least your own fuel costs!

    - Are any of you going to this years?
I'm going but not in the NSX this time, travelling as passenger in my friends 993 Carerra. Leaving Thursday returning Sunday. Doing it posh, staying in a hotel at Tours and will be driving to the circuit each day.

    Cheers

The only bit of Marks comment I would change is "993 Carerra" for TT RS "Thursday" for Friday and "Tours" for "Ferte Bernard"
2005 NA2 NSX, Berlina Black with full red leather interior.
2016 NC1 NSX, Casino White Pearl with red semi-aniline leather and alcantara.

I'll be there in the NSX from Thursday to Sunday with a few friends.....then a quick jaunt to Dover for an MOT. Friday lunch booked at the (infamous) Hotel de France in La Chartre sur le loir......meeting up with Derek Bell.

    see you there maybe?

matpp I think I saw you in Monaco a week before the GP SB04? I was overlooking Fairmont hairpin and my car was in the Casino car park so didn't have a chance to wave at you...was it you?

I was there from Thursday to Monday but was in my Jeep. Had another great week overshadowed by the death of Allan Simonsen.

2 of the girls in our group travelled down with his brother so was a bit upsetting.

I saw E2 NSX parked up in the car park next to the circuit, apart from that no NSX sightings.
