Thread: Cruise control buttons for Momo tuner wheel

  1. #1

Default Cruise control buttons for Momo tuner wheel

I did away with cruise control when I switched to the Momo tuner wheel but have been thinking of late about restoring the function.

Is it difficult to do? It's been that long since I had the wheel off I can't remember what's involved in terms of wiring.

I am looking at getting these Sparco buttons:

    Thoughts?

Get with Sudesh and he should be able to sort you out.

he is your best shot and he done the modification on mine as you know ... be interesting to see if you can get these fitted; looks like a decent compromise for sure

Easy to do, have a look on Prime, I'm sure I remember a post with pictures on how to do it.

    As NSXGB mentioned, it’s easy.

The diagram above will only work if you kept the cable reel on the car.

    If you have removed the cable reel, please look at post #3 in the following link;
    http://www.nsxcb.co.uk/showthread.ph...-with-OEM-boss

At the very end of post #3, you will find the connection info about the Set/Resume feature.

All you need is the high side signal (+12V) into the Set or Resume terminal when the switch is pressed.

If you are placing the switch around the steering wheel and if you have kept the 6pin in-line yellow connector (the last photo in post #3 above) under the steering column, the input terminals are already there.

On non-DBW model, the Cruise Control (CC) is done through the Auto Cruise controller behind the passenger glove box so if you are thinking of installing the CC switch away from the steering wheel, you can also run the cable from the controller instead.

On DBW model, it is done through the ECU but the switch input logic is the same.

I think Sudesh posted somewhere in the past showing the OEM switches relocated into the centre console switch panel behind the shift lever.
UK spec NSX may struggle to place the switch there [Edit: if all four slots were used up].

If you want to simplify the installation, you can just install the Set switch.
If you haven’t replaced your lower steering wheel/column cover, you should see half moon shape opening at the left side. You can install low height flat switch almost hidden there to keep the OEM like view.

    Not on facelift UK NSX!

Also I've done the same install for an owner with pre-facelift UK NSX, he wanted to do away with those old front fogs and never used headlight wash, so I made the new panel to suit.

Facelift UK cars don't have 4 buttons, they only have 2, so simple there.

Thank you for pointing it out to me, Sudesh.
I have modified my original post.

Can’t remember the spec of gcon45’s NSX but hope he can achieve his goal with these info.

    Many thanks for the replies!

    Couldn't be simpler.

I think I'll go with set and resume buttons simply for the symmetry of having both.

    Thanks again!

    Thanks guys for the mention!

Conor I've seen those sparco things in the flesh, and to be honest I thought it looked real cheap and tacky.
